Our Ryokan came with Japanese breakfast and dinner. This Ryokan was noted for its quality of food. Last night the dinner came with 8 courses and over 20 dishes! Beer, sake or wine is additional to the room fee which is always charged per person for a Ryokan, not per room.
All dishes were excellent from the sashimi to the crushed lily root but the highlight was the melt in the mouth Kyoto beef.
Dessert was worth a mention as the grapes were the sweetest I've ever tasted. As always, presentation is everything!
Kagihei Ryokan in Kyoto was definitely worth the stay. The room was very large and the added bonus was the Japanese baths on the second floor which was greatly appreciated after all the walking around Arashiyama.
