From a capsule hotel

Fall break in the Kansai region of Japan was the perfect anecdote for some rest and relaxation. With the first weekend of November being a long weekend and hotels all booked out, it meant Saturday and Sunday night would be spent in a capsule hotel. 

Our capsule hotel was located in the Shinsaibashi area. Small eateries line the lane and the hotel is a short walk from a major shopping area of Osaka.

Check in starts at 5pm and then you can come and go as you please. Shoe lockers are in the lobby and main luggage can go in large storage lockers for 200 yen per day. Upstairs a small locker stores a small bag. Showers and toilets are on the floor with toiletries and towels provided.

The capsule itself has a TV, alarm clock, power points and small shelf. A duvet and pillow is provided and once inside, a bamboo blind gives you privacy. 

Check out is 10am sharp. So if you are staying more than a night, you need to place luggage in a locker before returning after 5pm. 

This capsule hotel was clean, modern and recently renovated. It also had a floor for women with card access only. Our stay provided a central location at a budget price. Well worth the experience.
