Mashiko

Yesterday I caught 3 trains to travel to a town called Mashiko. Famous for its ceramics, it was also home to the famous ceramist, Shoji Hamada.

His home and workshops are now museum showpieces presented in impeccable style. Mashiko itself is a beautiful town nestled amongst hills and rice paddies. The best part of the trip was renting bikes at the station for 800 yen for the entire day. It made getting around quicker and easier.

This was a beautiful spot to visit and if you are a ceramics person, a definite must!
