Day 25:Great burgers

Today I was looking to kill a bit of time after Chinese classes since a bookstore I wanted to visit only opened in the afternoon. So I decided to try a small burger shop that I have been passing by for the past month. Called Coffee Geek & Burger, I went in, ordered a beef and bacon burger and a latte, sat down and waited whilst I checked my email and messages.

I must say the most useful phrase I have learned in Taiwan has been 这里有无线网路吗?Do you have wifi? I love it when they say yes and I have only come across one cafe that asked for a fee. Of course my second most used phrase has been 'latte' in Chinese 拿铁 na tie

Anyway, after waiting for 10 minutes my burger finally came. The serviette was packed with a leaflet in Chinese describing how the burgers are made. When I saw the term 手工制作 I understood why it took more than 10 minutes to make. These burgers are made individually and use 100% 'pure beef', 纯牛肉.

I am not exaggerating. This was the best burger I have had in a long time. So who would guess that in a small cafe lies such a gem. That is very much indicative of my time here in Taipei and of this city. The longer you are here, the more there is to discover.
