Day 19:Another great cafe in Taipei

This afternoon I decided to break with my usual pattern and head out exploring for the afternoon. One thing that is very challenging about being in Taipei during the summer months is the deceptive heat. It is very easy here to become dehydrated here and I guess the iced coffee that I had this afternoon didn't help matters.

I digress. My title was another great cafe. Actually I have been to this place before and I wanted to return. The cafe is located off Shilin MRT station on the Danshui line. Called Orange Fire Cafe, it is a very individual cafe, full of eclectic chairs and furnishings. I spent a whole hour just soaking up the atmosphere of this place. True to say that in Taiwan, people do like things that are funky and individual. This cafe is such a place. An added bonus is free wifi!

This cafe is a great rest stop before heading out to Danshui. I trained out to the final stop and walked along the mangrove board walks back to the MRT stop called 红树林 Hong shu lin. This was where I got slightly dehydrated and so I really needed to fuel up on fluids on my return trip back to Taipei Central. The only problem with that is one can not drink on the trains. Lesson learned. Keep drinking water.

My next posting will be on TV shows and learning Chinese unless I find yet another great cafe that is. Today's pictures were iPhone free. Instead I used my Fuji X100 and discovered why a second battery comes in handy. Great camera.
