Great eateries in Singapore: Cheap and tasty
Singapore has always been known as a great place to eat out. If you are a fan of local dishes, a must-go place is Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice in Maxwell Markets.
This outlet is famous for its Chicken Rice. You need to make sure you pick the right store but that is not hard. Just look for the queue and the blue sign. Tian Tian is located within the Maxwell Market Hawker centre. From the Chinatown MRT station, it is about a 10 minute walk if you go there directly. You need to head for the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and from there the market is just across the road.
This store only does the boiled chicken but the rice is very tasty and the chicken is quite tender with a nice balance of meat and fat to add to the flavour.
Whilst you are there, just opposite the store is a great juice outlet where drinks are cheap and plenty.
Maxwell Markets has a lot of other great hawker stores you might want to check out as well. It is centrally located and just a stone's throw from Chinatown.
